Initial Idea

College Music Magazine

"Skunk"

For my music magazine, I wanted to create a non-mainstream magazine. I opted for alternative/rock as I feel there is a gap in the market for this type of magazine which is backed up from my audience research. The target audience is both male and female, from ages 15 to 19 years old and would be more appealing to those of the indie scenesters/scene kid classification. (Based on UK Tribes).

From looking at my audience research, I can see that most people are willing to pay up to £2, and quite a few are willing to pay over. For what I am going to offer, I feel that £2.50 is a reasonable price and that many people would be willing to pay that. In response to my research, most people read a magazine every week but only buy them once a month, there fore i will be releasing this magazine monthly.

This type of magazine poses a lot of advertising potential, including that for clothes stores, new music releases and cosmetics for both genders.
